Stop the Brutality Against Kurds in Western Kurdistan (Rojava)
Once again, Kurds in Western Kurdistan (Rojava) are facing brutal attacks by terrorist groups backed by the oppressive Turkish regime. Over the past several days, Kurdish civilians in Aleppo province and surrounding villages and towns have been targeted in a coordinated campaign of ethnic cleansing.
These attacks by extremist insurgents aim to forcibly displace Kurdish residents from their homes and lands, altering the region’s demographic makeup. This is a crime against humanity.
As representatives of three Kurdish community organizations, we strongly condemn these atrocities carried out by Islamic mercenaries and the Turkish regime.
We urgently call on the international community to fulfill its moral and humanitarian responsibilities to stop this violence against Kurdish civilians. Specifically, we appeal to:
• The United Nations and its Security Council
• The European Union
• The Government of the United States
• The Government of Canada and the Canadian House of Commons
We implore these bodies to take immediate action to end the brutality and hold perpetrators accountable.
We also call on members of the Kurdish community in Canada and around the world to raise their voices and stand in solidarity against this injustice. Silence is not an option in the face of such crimes.
Together, we must advocate for the safety and rights of Kurds in Rojava. Let us unite in our efforts to demand justice and ensure these atrocities cease
